When one of our officers faces a challenge, whether on duty or off, the Foundation is there to ensure their needs are met. Unlike many organizations, every member of our Board of Directors is a 100% volunteer, dedicating their time, expertise, and resources to help the Foundation fulfill its mission. With exceptionally low operating costs, we ensure that nearly every dollar donated goes directly toward helping Dunwoody’s officers and their families. This means your generosity doesn’t get lost in overhead — it goes where it’s needed most.
What Your Donations Make Possible
Through your contributions, the Dunwoody Police Foundation funds vital programs, equipment, and resources that directly impact our department’s ability to protect and serve effectively. Some of the ways we’ve made a difference include:
- Officer Wellness and Family Support – providing assistance during personal or professional hardships, ensuring our officers and their families are cared for in times of need.
- Specialized Training – funding courses and certifications that enhance officer readiness, leadership, and community engagement.
- Safety Equipment and Life-Saving Tools – supplying critical items not covered by the city budget, like our investment in LifeVac devices, which have already saved both an adult and a child’s life.
- K-9 Unit Expansion – in 2025, the Foundation committed to helping the department acquire two additional K-9s, which we hope to have on site by early 2026. These highly trained dogs will strengthen public safety and give our officers invaluable support in search, rescue, and protection operations.
